What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is an independent branch of medicine which specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, particularly those associated with the spine and their effects on the nervous system.

Since much ill health can stem from a compromise to the nervous system, many conditions as well as back pain can be successfully treated with chiropractic care.

A Chiropractor carries out treatment through specific adjustments to joints in the spine or other parts of the body but will include soft tissue work, trigger point therapy and other modalities as required. Advice is also commonly given to promote good health and complement care.

The word Chiropractic is taken from two Greek words and means "manual practice" or treatment by hand.
